Missouri Historical Society archivist Molly Kodner discusses My Dear Molly: The Civil War Letters of Captain James Love. This remarkable, riveting volume consists of 160 letters written by Captain James Love to Molly Wilson, his fiancée in St. Louis. The letters discuss all four years of the war, including battles, life as a soldier, and Confederate prisons, in addition to detailing the love story of ordinary Americans James and Molly. The book is available for purchase in the Missouri History Museum Shop.
