Part 2 of 3. A previously hard-to-find TV movie which originally aired on April 12, 1993 - just once. It was made to be a TV-movie pilot for a projected TV series on ABC which never materialized. From Executive Producer Steven Spielberg and his company Amblin Entertainment. Filmed in both Charleston and Atlanta in 1992, this movie showcases early performances from some later well-known actors (like Laura Linney) and also marks the first collaboration between Spielberg and his favorite cinematographer Janusz Kamiński. The story is about three West Point, class of 1861 cadets and friends who fall on opposite sides after the breakout of The Civil War, with tragic consequences. A subplot involves Lucius, a Shelby Peyton's slave, who kills a slave trader and goes on the run. The climax of this movie is a not-so-authentic staging of the First Battle of Bull Run.
