In February of 2019 in the high country of Colorado, past the Contential Divide; we found a Derelict Dock & Abandoned Marina literally frozen in time. While this will be buzzing with life in just a few months, it was fascinating to have a look at this as time stood still in the cold winter air. Near the headwaters of the Blue River, in Summit County, Colorado. Off of I-70, surrounded by the Ski towns of Frisco, Silverthorne, and Dillon; Lake Dillon is behind an earth-filled dam; 5,888 feet long and 231 feet high--a reservoir for the city of Denver some 3,737 feet below. The slops were still busy on the nearby ski resorts of Copper Mountain, Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, and Breckenridge. At the lakeside, we stumbled on this Derelict Dock & Abandoned Marina. While this will be buzzing with life in just a few months, it was fascinating to have a look at it while it was literally frozen in time.
