Sorry about the late upload today we had some technical difficulties, the end to a era here in Gisborne the later 90s/ Early 2000s a earthquake hits the area causing serious damage to the railways and city.. The line between Gisborne / Wairoa to Napier is destroyed leaving a massive loss to the railways. The government refuses to fix it due to costs which exceed 1 million dollars. fast forward to 2019 we now walk through this barren train yard where the tracks and old carriages rust away and the historic station lays locked only open now and again to the market's. IN THE MIDST OF THE LOSS OF JOBS AND GISBORNES STUNNING SCENERY/WEATHER THEY OPENED UP RIDES FROM THE OLD STATION TO MURRIWI IN A RECONSTRUCTED REPURPOSED STEAM ENGINE, Sorry for the long history but its important, you can find more by Googling Gisborne New Zealands Railway/earthquake or their steam engine thanks so much for watching FOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK www.facebook.com/urbankiwiana/ Support Us On Patreon www.patreon.com/urbankiwiana Kiwiana Crew Instagrams Izeak www.instagram.com/urban_kiwiana/ The Dude www.instagram.com/the_dude_behind_the_camera/ T-L www.instagram.com/bandoxplores/ abandoned_decay www.instagram.com/abandoned_decay/
