Camping out in the Catskills πŸ”₯

I spend enough time going to NY so it made sense to just stay out here for a couple days. Found FREE camping and got permission to camp on one of the oldest land preserves in Hunter, Ny. I am not a seasoned camper by any stretch but i bought a tent anyway at wally world (walmart) for 30 bucks, grabbed a cooler and my limited skills and off I went. I think I was bit of a firebug. Gathered up twigs & logs and got a good fire going but in all honesty.. I bought firewood the next day πŸ˜‰ but it’s good to know I can get a good fire going with whats around on the forest floor. Met a couple people a few sites up, I honestly forgot their names (we had a few adult beverages) they were from the area.. good people, good times. Loved watching the baton lightshow they had going on. You never know what you will encounter and I was taken by surprise as I was backpacking through an old waterfall pool and came across nudists. To each their own I say but I wasn’t ready to be liberated from my clothes just then. Jumped in anyway fully clothed and moved on. Took in the sights around Bethel, Ny as well and visited the original site of the Woodstock music festival made famous 50 years ago. I love this area and will be going back to camp out again. thank you for viewing and Happy Exploring. I stayed at the Devils Tombstone and it is free to camp there for the entire 2019 season. You can literally just go there, pick out your site, then fill out a card and plop it in the box. Only 6 people were here out of 24 sites. Go get your camp on!! The nudist pool was at the Stony Kill Footpath, on top of the falls (Hike cautiously) πŸ˜‰ Happy Exploring πŸƒ
