How to Add Google Analytics to Shopify (2019)

Google Analytics is a free online software that lets you better understand the traffic coming to your site In this video we are going to go through how to actually set up Google Analytics for your Shopify store There are two different parts to this: creating your account to get your tracking code and placing it in the correct place on your site. To create an account go to marketingplatform.google.com/about/analytics and hit the “Start for free” button Once you sign up you will be prompted to name your new account, enter your website url and choose your industry. You will want to do the above step for each separate site that you have like a separate blog Once it is setup you will have your tracking information and it is super easy to install on Shopify. Just copy the tracking ID then go to your store under “Online Store”- “Preferences” and you will see a section titled “Google Analytics” to place it there.
