www.cops.com Deputy Ryan Skalko of the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office conducts a traffic stop on a vehicle with an equipment violation. The car has dark tinted windows which make it difficult for Deputy Skalko to see inside. When he asks the male driver to roll down his window, Deputy Skalko discovers there are four young men inside the vehicle and detects a marijuana odor coming from inside the car. The driver explains that they were on their way to the movie theatre but cooperates with Deputy Skalko by letting him search the car. He discovers marijuana in the driver's door panel and back seat. Deputy Skalko converses with the young men and learns that one of them would like to pursue a career in law enforcement and discovers that they do not have any criminal history. Since they were cooperative, Deputy Slalko gives them a second chance instead of punishing their clean records. Deputy Skalko advises the young men that instances similar to these could place them in trouble, therefore, they should make better decisions. Although the young men might be late to their movie their records remain in good standing and the contraband is submitted for destruction.
