"We’re losing our earth every day, more and more, so right now is our opportunity to actually create the next industrial revolution that's based on regenerative agriculture rather than industrial agriculture." Is regenerative farming the next Industrial Revolution? Farmers at Hudson Hemp in Hudson, New York, say sustainable farming techniques are key to reversing the effects of climate change. "Regenerative means that we are using mixes of plants, keeping roots in the soil at all times, not leaving bare soil, and integrating mixes of cover-crops, grass-fed livestock, the right mineral applications needed to regenerate the nutrient profiles of our soil. So what we're really talking about is regenerating and rebuilding the carbon pool in the soil by taking it from our atmosphere. And the carbon itself is where the microbes live in the soil, it's where nutrients are exchanged, and carbon holds the water in the soil."
