Tippy the Owl - Children's book read aloud -
A cute story written by Singer/Songwriter Ericka Corban for her 4 children. We hope you and your children enjoy this as much as we have. Tippy the owl is a wee little one; He's surely no bigger than your biggest thumb. He loves exploring around his tree And making his friends as happy as he. But there's one little problem in Tippy's life, And it tends to happen most every night. You see, Tippy just tips right out of his bed; He falls and then lands on top of his head! This is no good! He's got quite a bump As you can imagine, this makes him a grump! Tip has a friend, a bunny named Hop With feet that bound and ears that flop He loves to help others and lend them a hand So he hopped as he thought and came up with a plan. “I know,” he said “let’s put out a net! This old thing will catch you, I bet!" So Tippy decided to give it a try, And as the sun set, he closed one eye. Then drifting so sweetly and gently to sleep, He began to lean forward not making a peep. He awoke with a start and quickly he knew The net hadn’t held, he‘d fallen right through! "Well, that didn't work!" the bunny exclaimed, Hanging his head and feeling ashamed. "Don't worry friend, this isn’t your fault. If only I'd done a somersault, Then maybe I wouldn't have tumbled right through; But nevertheless this bump is not new. I suppose it's just the way it must be, I can't seem to stay up in this ol’ tree." So Hop headed home ‘cause he needed to think And just then a pan lid fell into his sink For it had been sitting right there on the edge; And closing the door made it fall off the ledge This gave him a thought, one that was new; And all of a sudden he knew what to do! He ran back to his friend with heart full of glee; Finally Tippy won't fall from his tree! “Tippy!” he shouted and ran through the door "I know how to make you not fall anymore! Just push your bed to the back of the tree! You've been too close to the edge, you see!?"
