Tardigrades Just Being Tardigrades - Water Bears Under The Microscope

submitted by emma_staden on 08/16/19 1

In this video you get a close look at the microscopic life of tardigrades. Tardigrades are amazing creatures and some of the smallest animals on the planet. To observe them you need to look through a microscope, which is exactly what I have done in this video. These tardigrades are from a common garden birdbath. The technique used for filming is called darkfield microscopy. This gives an incredible contrast due to the black background! If you want to go tardigrade hunting yourself, here is a link to a fast, easy and consistent method: mymicroscopicworld.com/how-to-find-tardigrades-the-easy-way If you want to help me make these videos you can now become a patron on: patreon.com/mymicroscopicworld For this video I used a light microscope (compound microscope) like this one: amzn.to/2Kchg3P (affiliate link) For filming I used my iPhone with a LabCam adapter: amzn.to/2HKIBsk (affiliate link) For more microscopy related material don’t forget to subscribe and feel free to check out mymicroscopicworld.com and: Patreon: patreon.com/mymicroscopicworld Instagram: instagram.com/my.microscopic.world Facebook: fb.me/mymicroscopicworld Twitter: twitter.com/MyMicroscopic The music is made by the talented Derek Marquez: YouTube: youtube.com/channel/UCmH0o-e_FT8bQznj0JpkWpg Soundcloud: soundcloud.com/derek-marquez
