From Personal To Collective: Singing Water Stories In The UK

submitted by Storytelling Academy on 07/18/19 1

The song ‘A River Is A Snake’ was composed by the folk singer and songwriter Sharron Kraus (www.sharronkraus.com/) starting from the stories told during the two events ‘There is Something in the Water’ and ‘Think Water’, organized in rural Cambridgeshire in UK as part of ‘The Reasons’. The song was recorded by James Street and Dean Honer. In this video, we combined some personal narratives with the song to highlight the transition from the stories to the lyrics, and the connection between the storytelling and the songwriting process.
