This is the second piece of live streaming to the web theatre I have done for The National Theatre of Scotland. The theme offered was Protest - and it was streamed on May 1st! My piece is based on the Grimms collected story called Sorrow and Joy - which deals with violence in a relationship and the responsibility a community has when they see injustice. I then leap from violence against women and the support needed to build healthy relationships to the legislation the UK government has put into place in the guise of 'protection' but really a means of claiming in fairly large fees/taxes from small communities and any venue which offers live entertainment such as our village hall - for 'Entertainment Licenses' - to allow us to legally gather together to build stronger communities - "Our Big Society" but we have to pay to volunteer to do it!!
