James Beard Award winning chef Jose Garces and Food Network Star Anne Burrell face off in the 2013 Great American School Lunch Challenge. The chefs were paired with representatives from the Houston Independent School District and the Colonial School District outside Wilmington, DE, to see who can make the best school lunch. Hosting this year's challenge is White House Assistant Chef and Let's Move! senior advisor Sam Kass. Brian Giles, senior food services administrator for the Houston Independent School District will guide Anne Burrell and teammate, HISD operations manager Pamela Guillory, while Paula Angelucci the nutrition director for the Colonial School District will provide Jose Garces and Colonial School District cafeteria manager Renee Elliott with helpful pointers to see who can whip up the most creative, appetizing and visually appealing school lunch, while also meeting nutritional guidelines. They'll cook their meal live before our Summit attendees on two kitchens built on stage.
