Any drum sander is going to be great, but this sander packs a punch with it's cantilevered head making the sander capable of widths up to 50 inches in two passes. Whether you are making veneer or sanding a table top you get great results. I mainly use it for small to medium sized components but on occasion push it to it's max sanding table tops. Drum sanders don't only smooth a surface, the level it out like a planer.
