At the Status of Women committee, we're conducting a study on the challenges facing senior women. I'm particularly interested in exploring intersectional issues around the differing needs of minority senior women. In urban centres, a growing percentage of the seniors population are members of a visible minority, and face challenges of language and culture when it comes to accessing services such as home care. Yesterday, I asked witnesses from the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives and International Longevity Centre Canada if we're doing a good enough job addressing intersectional needs in seniors care.
