This week we continue our new series called Crossroads. I will be speaking and the title of the message is: Me First/You First. The passage of scripture I will use comes from Mark 9:30-37. The message will be about what constitutes greatness and how oftentimes how we see it and Jesus sees it are not the same. Below is a description of the series: Countless times a day we make choices that seemingly have little impact upon our lives. They are not difficult, they require little thought, and are of little to no consequence to the overall quality of our lives and the direction we are headed. However, there are some choices we are faced with making that are of great significance and set the course for where we end up and who we become along the way. As we journey together into and through the season of Lent, we will be spending time in the Gospel of Mark and traveling with those who will teach us about the importance of making good choices in difficult places. Each week, we will pay particular attention to what happens at the crossroads of people’s lives who are seeking to follow Christ. We will camp out in those places where there are as many questions as there are answers with the hope that we can learn what to do and not do when we encounter similar crossroads of our own.
