Mia's father tells the family's story about the treatment of Mia's diagnosis of lazy eye (amblyopia) with eye patching, glasses, and lazy eye amblyopia exercises called vision therapy. Lazy eye surgery was not recommended because Mia had true amblyopia without a crossed eye (strabismus) and lazy eye surgery does not fix true amblyopia. Lazy eye is the common term for amblyopia and is not the same as a crossed eye or an eye turn which is called Strabismus.
