Following is a special message for parents: Academic success requires 17 different visual skills and seeing 20/20 is just one of them. Vision Screenings are not designed to test ALL of these visual skills. Vision screenings test how well your child sees 20 feet away, but not how well they can see when reading. If your child has passed a vision screening, don't assume that all is well. When a child struggles with reading, an eye coordination problem could be the cause.
