Audi Sport is now accepting orders for the Audi RS 5 Sportback (combined fuel consumption l/100 km: 9.1 (25.8 US mpg); combined CO2 emissions in g/km: 207 – 206 (333.1 – 331.5 g/mi)* in Germany and other European countries. The five-door, high-performance model combines exceptional design and high everyday usability with maximum performance. Extended wheelbase, short overhangs and a long, wraparound engine hood with power dome: The progressive exterior design of the Audi RS 5 Sportback illustrates the model’s dynamics. A wide and flat Singleframe grille with quattro logo in matt black and massive air inlets with an RS-specific honeycomb structure adorn the front. An RS-typical diffuser insert, the RS exhaust system with oval tailpipes as well as a surface-mounted spoiler lip provide sporty accents at the rear. The RS 5 Sportback comes standard with 19-inch forged wheels; 20-inch wheels are available as an option. Customers can customize the new Audi RS 5 Sportback with the gloss black, matt aluminum and carbon styling packages. The paint finish Sonoma green metallic is exclusive to the Audi RS 5. Finished entirely in black, the interior of the new Audi RS 5 Sportback is richly and functionally equipped while offering space for five people. Details such as RS sport seats with optional honeycomb pattern in Fine Nappa leather and the flat-bottomed RS multifunction sport leather steering wheel underscore the sporty character of the five-door, high-performance coupé. The inner values of the RS 5 Sportback also impress with power and efficiency. The 2.9 TFSI V6 biturbo engine produces 331 kW (450 hp). Its maximum torque of 600 Nm (442.5 lb-ft) is available between 1,900 and 5,000 rpm. The Audi RS 5 Sportback accelerates to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in 3.9 seconds on its way to an optional top speed of 280 km/h (174.0 mph). A sportily tuned eight-speed tiptronic with optimized gear changing transfers the power of the 2.9 TFSI to the quattro permanent all-wheel drive with self-locking center differential. It distributes the power to the axles asymmetrically (40:60), ensuring dynamic handling with optimal traction combined with the greatest possible safety. When slippage occurs on an axle, most of the power immediately flows to the other axle – up to 70% to the front, and up to 85% to the rear. This locking effect enables a clearly-defined torque distribution and precise cooperation with the control systems. The optional sport differential with RS-specific tuning ensures even more dynamic responsiveness when steering and accelerating. The system actively and selectively distributes the torque between the rear wheels. Thanks to five-link front and rear suspensions, customers experience comfort and uncompromised sportiness. With the standard RS sport suspension, the RS 5 Sportback is seven millimeters (0.3 in) lower than the Audi S5 Sportback. Audi Sport also offers the RS sport suspension with Dynamic Ride Control (DRC), ceramic brakes and dynamic steering with RS-specific tuning.
