Leading environmental scientists have given the world until 2030 to take significant steps towards fighting climate change, otherwise it will experience a true catastrophe - So why is more not being done? The grim outlook offered in a UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) released in Oct. 2018 was meant to awaken governments from a slumber of "complacency" and motivate people to "act now". The report urged citizens of the globe to make changes to their day-to-day lives in order to keep the earth's temperature from rising 1.5 degrees celsius beyond preindustrial levels, otherwise risk historic levels of drought, floods, extreme heat and poverty for hundreds of millions of people.
