Hello, this is Dr. Simon Dove with today's video blog. Today's health tip: Pay attention! Specifically, pay attention to your body. So I'm going to give you a couple distinctions -- distinctions between suffering and pain. Consider "pain" to be a neurological message of discomfort: A burn, a cut, a scrape. "Suffering" is a bit different. Suffering takes a bit more acuity, a bit more paying attention to the body. Suffering is a bit more like separation -- a longing, a kind of "hurt inside" type of pain. The benefit of paying attention to that is that if you don't, it'll tend to stick around or get stored in the body -- and then wreak havoc later. We don't want that. So, develop the habit of paying attention now. Any time you feel like there's something bothering you, or there's something nagging at you, or there's some unresolved tension that keeps popping up -- almost haunting you -- what I want you to do is pay attention to that. Our bodies are amazing feedback systems, and they're giving us amazing information all the time. So listen up! Today's health tip: Pay attention!
