More seniors receiving cochlear implants for hearing loss

Sunnybrook’s cochlear implant program — the largest in Canada — is increasingly treating more seniors in their 80s, 90s and beyond. Unlike a hearing aid, a cochlear implant is an implanted device that delivers impulses directly to the auditory nerve, which carries signals to the brain.
