Christmas & the Sacredness of Marriage & the Family-Fr. Michael Rodriguez

submitted by chrisnet on 12/08/18 1

+J.M.J.+ This is a talk given by Fr. Michael Rodríguez for the Feast of the Holy Family, January 7, 2018. Fr. Rodríguez begins by explaining why the Feast of the Holy Family is a Christmas Feast. He later lists some of today's demonic attacks against the sanctity of marriage and notes that the vast majority of Catholic Bishops are no longer teaching the true meaning of marriage and the family. Fr. Rodríguez concludes this talk by providing a brief teaching on the true meaning of Christmas because this leads one to the true meaning of marriage and the family. As one essential element to the true meaning of Christmas, Fr. exhorts us Catholics to be devoted and faithful to the Church and her Sacraments. Towards the end of the talk Fr. says, "Neither the Mass nor Marriage need to be changed, updated, or tampered with. These are two of the most sacred gifts which Christ Jesus has given us by the Mystery of the Incarnation, Christmas gifts, if you will." Our Lord’s Incarnation brought into being the holiest of families. His becoming man can never be separated from marriage and the family, which His birth and infancy have made sacred. In fact, marriage and family exists to bring Jesus Christ to life in souls! Marriage and family must be serving that purpose. Yet we are living in a time when there are the most horrific and diabolical attacks against marriage, life and the family. It has been prophesied that the final battle between Christ and the devil will be over marriage and the family. It is the decisive issue. A true appreciation for Christmas will strengthen our resolve in this battle. After all, the true meaning of Christmas is [1] the Birth of our Savior; [2] that He was born on earth that we might be born into Heaven; and [3] that He continues to be present to lead us to Heaven in an incarnational manner. Pray much and continually for the graces of Christmas to strengthen marriage and family. Monthly Tridentine Masses are offered for all our benefactors who are also remembered in our daily prayers.
