Discarded - A Georgia Tech Outlook on Food Waste

submitted by msrose on 12/05/18 1

In today's society, food waste has evolved into a prevalent feature of our daily meal intake. As a result, food insecurities are consistently taking a toll on the environment, leading to an infiltration of waste into landfills, increased greenhouse gases, and contaminated drinking water. Thankfully, our team of first-year students in Dr. McKenna Rose's English 1101 (Bad Collections) course has a plan to mitigate food waste, beginning at Georgia Tech. From advocation, education and implementation, the ways in which Georgia Tech can prevent food waste can be utilized in jobs, homes and other college campuses. With your help, let's put an end to global food waste!
