Please subscribe us Following Black Friday, local shops get the opportunity to shine on Small Business Saturday. Batch, a new store at the Farmers Market, provides shoppers the opportunity to buy from dozens of different local artisans. "We carry over 50 at least. That really ranges from food purveyors, people who make cookies to people who make soap, people who make salsa. I mean you name it we've got it here," Sam Davidson the CEO of Batch told News 2. The stop is among many local spots offering discounts over the weekend to compete with big box stores. Davidson says not only can you get unique gifts, but you support the local economy providing jobs in our own backyard. "Some estimates say that 70 percent of a dollar you spend stays in that community, in that neighborhood." Batch will also offer 10 percent off on Sunday for anyone who comes in and uses the code “smallbiz.” Small Business Saturday started in 2010 by American Express.
