EMBARC (Ethnic Minorities of Burma Advocacy and Resource Center) celebrates with Burmese food and performances of traditional dances at the Riverloop Amphitheatre in downtown Waterloo. EMBARC, Iowa's first refugee-led service provider, recognized volunteers and community members who showed outstanding support in their commitment to serving as welcoming neighbors, strong advocates, and friends. Mayor Hart even spoke to thank these volunteers and celebrate our strong Burmese population in Waterloo.
