submitted by Marvin's Underground Evening Lectures on 10/12/18 1

Stanley and Arlene Ginsburg Family Foundation Lecture Series May 12, 2015 China’s growing military and economic clout appears to have unnerved its neighbors, possibly setting it on a collision course with them and the US. How to assess China’s rise and its geopolitical impact? To answer these questions and more, we are pleased to feature June Teufel Dreyer, a Senior Fellow in FPRI's Asia Program and Professor of Political Science at the University of Miami, Coral Gables. Formerly senior Far East Specialist at the Library of Congress, she has also served as Asia policy advisor to the Chief of Naval Operations and as commissioner of the United States-China Economic and Security Review Commission established by the U.S. Congress. A frequent visitor to the Far East, Dr Dreyer’s most recent book is China’s Political System: Modernization and Tradition, ninth edition (Routledge, 2014). She is currently writing a book on Sino-Japanese relations.
