On the 20th anniversary of NAFTA, the Peterson Institute for International Economics (PIIE), the Embassy of Mexico, and the McKinsey Global Institute cohosted a conference on July 15, 2014, to present new research challenging false claims and exaggerations about the agreement's harms. Gary Clyde Hufbauer, PIIE, delivered the keynote address, "A Fair Assessment of NAFTA at 20," followed by a panel of discussants including Douglas Bell, United States Trade Representative; José De Gregorio, former governor of the Central Bank of Chile; and Raymond Robertson, Macalester College.
