The Peterson Institute for International Economics (PIIE) cohosted an event with the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) and the Institute of International Finance, Inc. (IIF) on April 8, 2014, to discuss the true value of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to the United States and to the world economy. Charles Collyns (IIF) and Domenico Lombardi (CIGI) made opening remarks. Speakers for Panel 1, on IMF surveillance and crisis prevention, included James Boughton (CIGI), C. Fred Bergsten (PIIE), Adam Lerrick (American Enterprise Institute), and Maziar Minovi (Goldman Sachs Investment Management). Hung Tran (IIF) moderated the discussion.
