NSF sits down with Dr. Moira Gunn in this episode of Scientists & Engineers on Sofas (and other furnishings). Gunn is founder and host of the National Public Radio programs Tech Nation and BioTech Nation. Earlier in her career she worked as an engineer for NASA and was the first woman to earn a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Purdue University. In 2011, she received the National Science Board's Public Service Award for an Individual for her contributions to the public understanding of science and technology. Tech Nation is heard weekly on National Public Radio and is syndicated on more than 200 domestic, public radio stations. It also is heard three times weekly in 177 nations with international syndication via American Forces Radio. Credit: National Science Foundation
