During the war in Vietnam, medics, corpsman, and nurses were the “first responders,” performing life saving medicine--often with complete disregard for their own safety. Tonight, in partnership with the National Library of Medicine, a panel of Vietnam veterans and historians will recount their experiences and explain the duties of medical personnel in Vietnam. Participating in the discussion will be Maj. Gen (Ret.) Donna Barbisch (U.S. Army Nurse), Dr. Jack Fowler (U.S. Navy Corpsman), Col. (Ret.) Merle J. Snyder (DUSTOFF helicopter pilot), and Col. (Ret.) Donald Hall (Gulf War Medic and medical support historian). Presented in part by the Lawrence F.
