Belfer Center Directors' Seminar May 3, 2013 Description: Seminar with Dr. David Hamburg, Visiting Scholar at the AAAS, and Dean Martha Minow of the Harvard Law School Dr. Hamburg's latest book 'Give Peace a Chance' tells the story of peace achievements through interviews with key figures involved in those processes. He argues that there are six pillars to maintaining peace: prevention education, early action, democracy building, socioeconomic development, human rights, and arms control. Dr. Hamburg is a visiting scholar at the American Association for the Advancement of Science and DeWitt Wallace Distinguished Scholar at Weill Cornell Medical College. Martha Minow is the Dean and Jeremiah Smith, Jr. Professor at Harvard Law School where she has taught since 1981.
