HKS Lecturer and former U.S. Ambassador to Austria (1993-97) Swanee Hunt moderated the 16th annual Institute for Inclusive Security Colloquium panel discussion with female leaders and activists Jacqueline Pitanguy of Brazil, The Honorable Martha Karua of Kenya, Thin Thin Aung from Myanmar, Pastor Esther Ibanga of Nigeria, Bushra Hyder of Pakistan, and Amal Shami of Syria “From the Frontlines: Women Battle War” explored international security concerns, challenges in combating extremist groups, gender-specific violence, and refugee crisis in Syria and Nigeria.
