Panelists Charles Ramsey, Commissioner of the Philadelphia Police Department, Annise Parker, Mayor of the City of Houston, and Phillip Atiba Goff, Visiting Scholar of the Malcolm Weiner Center for Social Policy joined moderator David Ellwood, Dean of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, for a panel discussion to reflect on the future of policing in the United States, at local, state, and federal levels. The panelists discussed recent events in Ferguson, Missouri and New York City, as well as the importance of police interaction with local communities, justice in legal proceedings, and the short and long-term solutions to restoring recently waning trust in American police departments across the country.
