submitted by Marvin's Underground Evening Lectures on 10/09/18 1

In the first part of the morning panel discussion, Richard Clarke, Cybersecurity Expert and Former Counterterrorism Czar, Robert M. Lee, CEO and Founder, Dragos, Inc., Kevin Mandia, CEO, FireEye, and Liam O’Murchu, Director, Security Technology & Response group at Symantec, explored the scope of threats to the power grid. Some of the questions addressed were: - Who is responsible for grid cybersecurity? - To what extent is the grid being hacked today? - What are the nature of the grid penetrations? - Who is active in this process? - What is the nature of the risk? - What are the consequences of a grid cyber-attack? - What are the contingency plans to deal with a grid cyberattack? Co-hosted by the Siebel Scholars program and the Siebel Energy Institute, the conference examined the frequency, nature, sources, and potential impact of cyber-attacks on U.S. critical infrastructure, with a concentration on the power grid.
