Fragments of Me - Teaser

submitted by Reyreyreys Tv on 10/07/18 1

This is the teaser for "Fragments of Me", formerly a feature film in development, now a short film trilogy - entitled "Sweethearts?", "Second Encounters" & "The Day We Met". The films will be in Danish with English subtitles. We are currently in production with the first of the three films: "Second Encounters" which is part two of the trilogy. It has been cast with different actors. Visit wbprods.com for more info. Teaser RT: 1:17 minutes. “Kærester?” (“Sweethearts?”) is about first love. It is about the budding awareness one gains during puberty, that one is able to fall in love and thereby risk one's heart for another person. It is about the vulnerability and insecurity this fosters. Lola (15) has been bullied badly throughout her childhood by class mate Tristan (15). Suddenly one day he asks her if she will be his girlfriend. Is he serious? Or pulling her leg? Should Lola believe him? Or get revenge? Lola's lack of faith is mirrored in Tristan, who is equally vulnerable and scared of losing face, especially in front of his friends. Will our two youngsters find each other? “Et gensyn” (“Second Encounters”) is a bitter-sweet tale of longing, lost love and shattered hopes. “You don’t know what love is, until you have had your heart broken”, I was once wisely told. This is a story about love and passion that slip through your fingers. About the one who got away, and where you always wonder, “What if?”. Simon (28) walks into a restaurant with his girlfriend Simone (28). Time stands still when he sees his former lover, Katja (27), sitting with her boyfriend, Janus (30). Dormant feelings rush to the surface, and the opportunity to rekindle the past and break free from current shackles, presents itself. But can you repeat the past? “Da vi mødtes” (“The Day We Met”) is about marriage and divorce. Not that love always ends in divorce, but nowadays it is a common occurrence. We’ve been raised to believe that love should last forever, that it is like what we see in fairytales and movies, and a failed marriage is a shameful defeat. But what if the one turns out not to be the one? Two curious children sit in anticipation at the breakfast table on a Sunday morning. ”How did you meet?” they ask their parents, Jenny (45) og Marcus (39). Their parents vividly recount the day they met, but are constantly distracted by powerful emotions from their conflict-laden relationship. Amidst all the blame and reproach, they are reminded of where they started from, and we are taken on a humorous journey down memory lane of their first date. As they work through their dreams, hopes and illusions, they realise what the children have known all along. One must lay the past to rest in order to move on... Inspired by films like "Revolutionary Road" and "Blue Valentine", this film makes use of long, intimate scenes to get under the skin of its characters. We start in media res, and slowly come to understand how everything connects. From the director: I've come to a point in my life where I am beginning to be able to look back and see how all the dots connect. I see a pattern and a rhyme and reason to the choices we make and the things that happen to us. I am putting a piece of truth - a fragment of me - up on screen. In this trilogy of short films we are faced with three stages of life - or rather - love. First love. Heartbreak. Marriage. I don't have a message. I am not here to preach. I merely wish to show a picture of love as I see it today - in all its glory and pain. There are no easy solutions, only a desire to better understand the complexity of the subject matter. The three films are about three different couples, but they share the same "relationship karma" if you will. The "relationship" deteriorates through each story, until the characters finally come full circle: What they set in motion at the start, is reconciled at the end.
