Janet Sims-Wood discusses her book, "Dorothy Porter Wesley at Howard University: Building a Legacy of Black History." Wesley was a renown archivist who helped create a world-class archives known as the Moorland-Spingarn Research Center and cemented her place as an important figure in the preservation of African-American history. Speaker Biography: Janet Sims-Wood is the former chief librarian of the Moorland-Spingarn Research Center at Howard University. She currently serves as an associate librarian at Prince George's Community College in Maryland. She was a founding associate editor of SAGE: A Scholarly Journal on Black Women. Sims-Wood currently serves as national vice-president of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History.
