She achieved global acclaim with the publication of the article ‘After Black Power, Women’s Liberation’ in New York Magazine in 1969; it has since gone down in history as a seminal piece of feminist literature. She went on to found the ground-breaking feminist magazine, Ms., in 1972. Today, she is a prolific lecturer and spokeswoman and vocal in her attempts “to make women visible and powerful in the media”.
