He is author of the satire on environmentalism 'Can I Recycle My Granny And 39 Other Eco-Dilemmas'. PROFESSOR NORMAN GERAS is Professor Emeritus of Government at Manchester University. He has written widely on Marxism and foreign policy and was a prominent signatory and founder of the Euston Manifesto which rallied academic support for the war in Iraq. Gerard Tully Gerard is a former Vice-President of the Union, and President of CUSU OPPOSITION: SIR CHRISTOPHER MEYER was the British Ambassador to the United States at the time of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the Iraq war, and has been a visiting fellow at Harvard University's Centre for International Affairs. Sir Christopher is also the former chair of the Press Complaints Commission. DR KERRY BROWN is a writer, lecturer and consultant about China and Asia, and a senior fellow at Chatham House on the Asia Programme. He worked in Japan, Australia and China before joining the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London. SIMON TISDALL is an assistant editor of The Guardian and a foreign affairs columnist. He was previously a foreign leader writer for the paper and has also served as its foreign editor and its US editor, based in Washington DC. He was The Observer's foreign editor from 1996-98.
