St Cross Building at 50 - Panel Discussion

submitted by Marvin's Underground Evening Lectures on 10/07/18 1

17 October 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the St Cross Building which houses both the Faculty of Law and the Bodleian Law Library. It is a Grade II* listed building and the work of the late Sir Leslie Martin (architect of the Royal Festival Hall in London) and Colin St John Wilson (architect of the New British Library). A programme of celebratory events ended with a Law-focussed panel discussion chaired by the Dean, Professor Timothy Endicott, and including contributions from Professor Francis Reynolds, the Rt. Hon. Richard Buxton, Professor John Eekelaar and Baroness Ruth Deech. The panellists discussed memories of Law in Oxford, from before and after the building and library opened, as well as new plans for the building and the Faculty.
