"Let It Ride" is a 1974 single by the Canadian Rock group from Winnipeg, Manitoba - Bachman-Turner Overdrive. It was written by Randy Bachman and Fred Turner, with the latter providing lead vocals. The song peaked at #23 on the Billboard Hot 100. Bachman-Turner Overdrive got the idea for this song when they were on tour. They were driving along a highway in the US when a few truckers decided to have some fun with the band, who were riding in a little van from Canada. The truckers boxed them in and slowed down to a crawl. When they finally turned into a truck stop the band followed them with the intent to give them a good talking to. Unfortunately, in the words of Randy Bachman, "The trucker looked like a Volkswagen with a head." The truckers laughed and told the band that they needed to learn to "Let It Ride." The song was written that night.
