Petro Poroshenko, President of Ukraine, addresses the general debate of the 73rd Session of the General Assembly of the UN (New York, September 25 – October 01, 2018). In his address to the General Assembly Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko today (26 Sep) said that four years since Russia's occupation of the Crimean Peninsula, “Crimea has turned into a military stronghold threatening security and stability in the entire wider Black Sea region.” Poroshenko said that “increasing militarization of Crimea deserves the General Assembly's close attention and prompt reaction. Russia’s aggressive policies as well as its arrogance in using lethal weapons multiply the threat.” The Ukrainian President said, “this is the thing about today’s Russia: they absolutely don’t care. They don’t care about suffering. They don’t care about the truth. They don’t care about the law. They think that their military might and status in the UN give them this right. It’s up to us to prove them wrong. It’s up to us to make them care.” Crimea was annexed by the Russian Federation in 2014. ---------------------------------------- Watch General Debate of the General Assembly (in original language) unwebtv.live/73_UNGA_FL
