Over the past decade NASA has launched a series of Earth remote sensing satellites with powerful new capabilities. They provide a richly detailed picture of atmospheric processes. While that picture is complex and difficult to interpret, it offers the potential of a long term, detailed record of the atmosphere as it undergoes climate change. This talk will describe some of the challenges in understanding satellite data sets, show recent results, and speculate on future insights. Speaker: Dr. Eric J.
