On October 15, 2006, Bart D. Ehrman was interviewed about his book, "Misquoting Jesus: The Story Behind Who Changed the Bible and Why," published by Harper San Francisco. His New York Times best-seller Misquoting Jesus documents the many differences in the 5400-plus existing Greek manuscripts on which the New Testament is based, and the problems this causes scholars. In this interview he also discussed his current book at that time, "The Lost Gospel of Judas Iscariot." Bart was interviewed at Bryant Park in New York City during the New York Times Great Read in the park, by C-SPAN2 Book TV. Bart D. Ehrman is the James A. Gray Distinguished Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He came to UNC in 1988, after four years of teaching at Rutgers University. At UNC he has served as both the Director of Graduate Studies and the Chair of the Department of Religious Studies. A graduate of Wheaton College (Illinois), Professor Ehrman received both his Masters of Divinity and Ph.D. from Princeton Theological Seminary, where his 1985 doctoral dissertation was awarded magna cum laude.
