At a meeting of the Washington area group for print culture studies, Anthony Lee discussed paratextual and intertextual entaglements with Pope, Statius, Dryden, Gay and Milton, based upon two pieces scheduled for publication in 2018: "Dryden, Pope and Milton in Gay's Rural Sports and Johnson's Dictionary" in Notes and Queries and "Johnson, Statius and the Classical Motto" in Johnsonian News Letter. Speaker Biography: Anthony Lee's research interests center upon Samuel Johnson and his circle, mentoring and intertexuality. He has published three books and more than 30 essays on Johnson and 18th-century literature and culture. He has three books forthcoming: "Community and Solitude: New Essays on Johnson's Circle," "Revaluation: New Essays on Samuel Johnson" and "Modernity Johnson: Samuel Johnson Among the Modernists."
