Clyde Goulden and Robert McIntosh discussed the critical importance of science and the rule of law in protecting the integrity of Mongolia's Lake Hovsgol National Park, one of the most beautiful and famous tourist destinations in Mongolia. Lake Hovsgol, the second largest lake in the nation, is called the Blue Pearl of Mongolia because of its crystal clear water. The area features unique flora and fauna, and is surrounded by traditional nomadic areas, all of which are affected by tourism and development. Gouldena and McIntosh have done more than 20 years of research into the area's values, ecology, ethnography, biodiversity and traditional lifestyles.
