Mega Cuban pop stars they may be but don’t expect a glitzy recording studio for singer–songwriter duo—Israel Rojas and partner Yoel Martínez. Hailing from the eastern–most province of Cuba (Guantánamo), this is of the most popular bands on the island especially among a young, mainly high–school and university crowd. The band has performed in over 10 countries and in 2006 attracted 300,000 to a single concert. They use much metaphor and irony to express reflective and well–thought out ideas and feelings, as well as talking about love, relationships and the everyday issues of Cuban life.
