How to Change the Battery in a DSC Power Series Wireless Keyfob

In this video, we'll show you how to replace the battery in a DSC Power Series Security System Wireless Keyfob. Caption: You may need to change a battery at some point in the life of a wireless door contact, usually every 4 or 5 years. This can prevent service calls and false alarms from your system. Tools Needed: Small Flat head screw driver, Phillips head screw driver Replacement battery Procedure: (Disclaimer - Call our Monitoring Station to prevent unnecessary calls and dispatches Prior to proceeding) Today we’re going to use a 4-Button Keyfob, but this procedure will work with any DSC wireless keyfob. If you look to the end of the keyfob, near where you would put a lanyard or key ring, you will see a small indented area. Insert your flat head screw driver in this space and give it a half-turn. This will pop open the keyfob. Use your fingers to open the keyfob fully. Use the Phillips head screw driver to remove the small screw in the middle of the circuit board. Once removed, insert the flat head screw driver into the small indentation at the bottom of the circuit board and pop the board out. Remove the battery and replace with a new CR2025 battery. Replace the circuit board, and re-insert the screw. Replace the cover by simply placing it on top of the keyfob and firmly pressing down. Test the unit by pressing a button, and checking to see if it arms and disarms your system. You’re all done!
