In newly-released footage the officer who gunned down Harith Augustus, 37, can be heard struggling to catch his breath as his partner tries to calm him down after the July 14 shooting on Chicago's South Side. Augustus had been stopped by police who noticed that he was carrying a weapon when the father-of-one slipped out of an officer's grip and attempted to flee as he pulled a gun from his waistband. A male officer reacted quickly and fired five shots at Augustus, killing him in the street.
