Shaun Choo, 1st Prize Winner of the 2nd Asia-Pacific Chopin Piano Competition in Daegu, South Korea. About the competition: The results of the 2nd Asia-Pacific International CHOPIN Piano Competition, held from 17-26 October 2012 in South Korea, is released and Shaun Choo, the sole Singaporean competitor was awarded the top prize in the senior division, after two weeks competing beating finalists from South Korea, Poland, Russia and other countries. Some 113 participants from 18 countries took part in the preliminaries for both the Senior and Junior division. He received €20000 as prize money and is slated to perform in a number of concerts, including recitals at the "Sale Redotuwe" of Theatre Wielki and Chopin Museum in November 2012, and at the annual Chopin Piano Festival in Warsaw and 68th Duszniki Chopin Festival in 2013. Honorary guests that were present at the competition were the First Lady of Poland, the Mayor of Daegu, South Korea and the Polish ambassador to Korea.
